Thus, this condition is life-threatening if you don’t act right away. Once your pup shows symptoms of leek poisoning, you need to consult the vet immediately for treatment. Your vet will start inserting intravenous (IV) fluids and decontamination your dog. This will encourage your pooch to vomit with a hydrogen peroxide solution, stomach flush, and will administer active charcoal to absorb the remaining toxins. It is best to admit your dog to the vet’s clinic for proper observation and supportive treatment like blood transfusion, oxygen therapy, and medications for hemolytic anemia.
