Can I feed my dog eat jollof rice?

It is made using garlic, onion, vegetable oil, rice, pepper, tomatoes/ tomato paste, curry powder and as a complement chicken, mutton, turkey, beef, fish is also served with it. Although rice is good for dogs to eat but other ingredients makes it toxic and can cause serious health issues.
If you really want to feed jollof rice to your pet use fish oil/ olive oil/ flaxseed oil instead of vegetable oil, remove onion, garlic, pepper, curry powder from the recipe. Also, use plain white rice, be careful while using brown rice as it contains more cholesterol than white rice and cannot be mixed with other nutritious food items. It will add more calories to the regular diet of your dog and can result in weight gain, if consumed regularly it can result in making your dog obese and other health issues followed by it. To make it healthy you can add more vegetables like carrot, pumpkin, cauliflower, etc. to it. Make sure that the meal is properly cooked to make it easy to digest.
Rice can add a good amount of carbohydrates and fats which is important for a balanced diet for dogs, it can help in the normal functioning of the brain. Also, rice is good for dogs to eat; it is a good source of niacin, vitamin-D, fiber, iron, calcium, thiamine, riboflavin. It helps in regulating bowel movements and improves the growth of good bacteria.
